Iridology is a quick, accurate, non-invasive, safe and
painless system
of health analysis through the examination of the colored part of the eye
known as the iris. Proclaimed throughout the ages as "windows
of the soul", the eyes are now acknowledged as mirrors of the body
and likened to miniature television screens recording the condition
of the various organs and tissues throughout the body. The health analysis is made through a careful examination of the
different markings and pigments in the iris which reflect hereditary
tendencies and genetic strengths and weaknesses. The iris records
information about the state and functioning of every organ in the body as
well as levels of inflammation and toxicity. This enables the
underlying cause for symptoms we may experience to be detected and
removed using naturopathic remedial programs specific to each client's
needs.
Reference to the eye's value in health assessment can be traced back to
numerous ancient scriptures including the Bible. "The light of
the body is in the eye, if the eye is sound" (Matt:6,22).
However, Clinical Iridology began with an Hungarian Medical Doctor, Ignatz von Pezcely in the late nineteenth century.
The iris is an extension of the brain being endowed with may thousands
of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, as well as muscle and
connective tissue. Every organ is connected to the iris via the
nervous system, the nerve fibers receiving their impulses by way of optic
nerve, optic thalami, and the spinal cord.
